Party Weekend Cliff Notes!

It truly was a

PARTY WEEKEND! !


Background Info: Mom and Cathy met their freshman year of college and have been the best of friends ever since. Sarah and Megan and I met before we were even born and have been the best of friends ever since.

Growing up we got together ALL the time because Megan lived in the same town as our grandmother.

When we were six years old Sarah and I went to stay a week with our grandparents. (With multiple days planned with Megan, of course!) The very first night, Sarah fell from the monkey bars and broke her arm! Megan's response to this was
"This just ruins my party week!".

Ever since then our visits have been labelled "Party Weeks"... and that is just what they are!
Twenty years later we are still having "Party Week-Weekends!"

This year's party week-weekend was a shopping trip with a motive:
to find mom a Mother of the Groom dress!
(Houston and Lacey are getting married this fall.)

If you ever need help finding something fabulous to wear... call Megan! I'm serious.. the girl knows clothes!

Every year we come home having had the best food, the best time, and having made the best memories. This year was no exception:

I realize that this post is full of inside jokes and I'm sorry... but since probably half of my readers are Sarah, Mom, Megan and Cathy I feel it's fine.

First on the agenda for the weekend- MOG Dress...



She decided "not to get the one that looks like her but to get the one that doesn't look like her"

Honestly, the photo does NO justice.. the dress is gorgeous and really, mom in the dress is what is gorgeous!

Second -shoes...

Next... KATE SPADE...
and this is where I fell in love.... and so did Megan. I fell in love with the entire store and everything in it. Megan fell in love with the most beautiful trench coat you've ever laid eyes on!







Last on the agenda: A true party! Every year we always manage to have some reason for a party... this year our trip fell between Mom's and Cathy's birthday. The perfect reason to surprise them with a party!



The shopping was great, the food was great, the birthday party was great... and the whole Party Week-Weekend was great!! (Megan, Cathy, Mom and Sarah- I'm already getting geared up for next year! Love you!!!!)

When I got home Casey and Anna were still on the road from his parent's house... I finished this while I was waiting on them-







I still have to grout it.. but I LOVE it!!

When Casey and Anna finally got home Anna looked at me like this:



Then she let out a little cry and said what I promise was "daddy" in the most pathetic whine you've ever heard... then she stretched her arms out, grabbed him and crawled back into his arms.



He of course was loving every second of it and I..... well, I almost cried. Ha! But after I insisted she come to ME... she eventually figured it out..



...and it truly was "a happy day"!
