Finally Fall!!

(Good thing Anna has super cute giraffe house shoes to keep her little toes warm!)

Casey and I have decided that we want to be those people that get all the kids in their strollers or on their bikes and go walk around the neighborhood after supper... how do those families do that? We've been saying we were going to start walking for days but today was the first day it was even possible. THEN- by the time we finished eating and getting Anna all "geared up" it was too dark to really go for a walk. We attempted it anyway but it didn't work out when the dark "shadow-y" four-legged figure started growling and barking at Huntley. It was our neighbor's dog which is normally pretty friendly...but tonight it was just too dark!
We'll try again another day!

The rest of the day seemed pretty productive...

I've been working on my scrapbooks. I've got TONS to do but thankfully Anna was so good to sit in her highchair and have a little snack after her nap ...letting me work for a little longer.

But it wasn't too long until my little rugrat was back to being mischievous!



Doesn't she just look like she's up to something? She WAS... always is!!

Oh yeah.. I wanted to add this to my "first day of Mother's Day Out" post yesterday and forgot... isn't she a little sweetheart playing before "school"?

Anna looked like a little doll on her first day of Mother's Day Out. This is a little outfit my friend Megan got for her. I (and everyone who has seen it) LOVE it... (Thanks Megan!)
I think Anna had a great time. Me?... well, I was bored to tears after the first five minutes. =)

This afternoon we are just hanging out getting the house ready for some potential buyers to come and look at it AND we are so hoping they will buy it!

I'm missing little Anna...

Anna is spending a night or two with Casey's parents. I was feeling terribly sick last night and this morning. With all that is going around, Casey and I thought Anna might be better off spending a day or two with her Mimi and Paw!

I'm fine now! I don't know if it was just a little bug or something I ate... but I'm feeling totally back to normal. False Alarm- BUT.. I know Mimi and Paw are having a blast with Anna!

I'm missing Anna today though! I keep thinking I'm forgetting something or something is missing... I guess I'm just used to having her following me all around!

Is it too early to teach "table manners"?

After feeding Anna I gave her a little bit of a cracker to snack on while I ate lunch. When I saw this.. I knew I HAD to get a picture of it.. she is so funny with that little foot!!



I should probably clarify that WE do not eat with our feet on the table.. she figured this one out all on her own!


Today we've just been unwinding from the weekend. Anna unpacked her bag for me:





She pulled out EVERYTHING until she finally found something to help with the teething:



This weekend I found Anna's dress for Houston's wedding. It is absolutely precious on!! I LOVE it.. and the cute little shoes!

Some of Anna's favorite things to do are to play are tag and race. We play every night... she is just the sweetest thing in the entire world! She gets so excited. I finally got a video tonight. Hope you enjoy!

I snapped this picture with my cell phone this morning. Yep.. she's everywhere; strolling about the house with her super cool walker. (Thanks Aunt Say Say!)

I just can't believe nine months have already passed! Man, time sure does fly!!! Anyone have a guess on how much longer it will actually be before she starts walking on her own?!?! Not sure I'm quite ready for that.. my little will no longer be little!

meet Picky!

There is only one baby in the world that refuses a cheerio: ANNA!!



Sorry the video is such bad quality and the focus goes in and out.. it's the best I could do at the time.

The child won't eat anything except for sweet potatoes, pears, carrots, squash, bananas and applesauce (sometimes),mixed veggies and gerber puffs! This is what she does when you offer her a bite of something to eat: She clamps her mouth closed and only allows you to put a little on her lips... if she likes the smell THEN.. and only then, she will lick her lips... if she likes the taste.. your in. If she doens't like the taste (which she almost NEVER likes the taste) she immediately spits that tiny little dab of whatever it was back out and refuses to eat anything... including her favorite foods!
Oh.. and she doesn't spit the food out in a quiet, polite manner.. NO.. she gags and gags and make a big to-do out of the ordeal! THEN.. when you finally give up and try to give her something you know she likes... she gags and gags some more. That is right. Once she's tried something that she DOESN"T want to eat... it's over! She isn't eating ANYTHING!!

What child doesn't like Cheerios? Little Miss Picky!

Okay, First things First- I'm a bit embarrassed that I posted about Desperate Housewives yesterday... but I wouldn't be "real" if I didn't confess my weaknesses at some point too. AND.... sadly, lately my biggest weakness has been- Desperate Housesives season 5! But, thankfully I can have a successful break until the 27th... AND... then, a NORMAL one hour a week (and not many hours a day) viewing will take place!!! (yay!)

Today... I'm BACK (we're back) to the blog to post a "real" post!

Zannie and DaddyBen got Anna a little walker. She loves it! Our whole living room/den area is hardwood floors and she can just go everywhere... although she hasn't quite mastered going forward she still loves it. She is having a ball in it RIGHT NOW.. so that I can blog!




Now... for the baby presents I've been working on:



Baby Scrapbooks! My mom's cousin made her a "grandmother book" for her to fill up with pictures of Anna. It was the cutest thing ever. So, I stole her idea! (Thanks Barbara!) Each of my scrapbooks have 20 pages. Cover, first photos, mommy and me, daddy and me,grandparents, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, first Christmas, first Easter, first birthday, First year. All the parents have to do is fill the pages in with pictures.

I've only finished one... they take a while... but I think they are a neat gift idea!

confession:

While Anna has been playing with "Scout" I have not been blogging and slacking off on my house-hold duties (and just about every thing except taking care of Anna) and watching too many, many, many episodes of Desperate Housewives instead!
I may be dumber now (as Beth Moore's daughter might say) but that would have to be okay by me.... the show is SO good.. I'm sorry!

The good news is that I'm completely caught up with the 5th season and all ready for the new season to start on Sept. 27! That means I can now get on top of the laundry situation and get back to the baby presents that were taking over my life last week... and hopefully do some cooking!!

I'll be back SOON to let you know about the baby presents!!

Also... Sharpie has now come out with the retractable sharpie pen... it's amazing!

It sure is quiet around here....

That is because yesterday the little monkey bouncing off the walls around here pulled up on the end table and was able to reach just far enough to bang on the tv remote.... leaving us with NO t.v.
Honestly.. it took me a couple hours just to figure out how to get the machine to turn on.... THEN we were left with NO sound!! When Casey came home he found me and the little sitting in the floor with three remotes to three systems (TV, Bose, DVR), and three manuals to go with them. (Anna was not allowed to touch any of it of course!) Finally we figured out the problem was somewhere in the DVR (but couldn't ever fix it!)... it's now unplugged and the TV is up and running... BUT what good is a tv if you can't watch your recorded Desperate Housewives!!! I know as soon as I call Comcast and tell them my DVR isn't working it will be like three weeks before they can come out to look at it. My luck... they'll plug it back in and it will work just fine! That always happens to me... something is messed up until the "doctor" comes in!!

Okay.. sorry!

Now that I've got some time on my hands I figure I'd update you on the weekend. (I found my USB cord in the cup holder of my tahoe.... I know!) Here are some photos from the dove hunt...
