Busy Week!

I haven't forgotten y'all. I have lots to show you and tell you but this week has been pretty crazy. It may be the end of the weekend before I can get to writing you a good post to read. Until then I'll leave you with a little story about customer service:

As many of you may have read I'm trying to work on saving money by using coupons. So far I have been putting my new "savings knowledge" to good use at Kroger and Walgreens.
Last night I went to try my hand at Walgreens. If you are not familiar with their Rewards Program it can be VERY helpful in saving money and sometimes even making a little profit.

In the Walgreens Ad that comes out every week certain items are marked as a Register Rewards item. This means if you purchase the item you will recieve a certain amount of Register Reward Money (RR) back. They are basically like "Walgreen Dollars". You can use them on anything in the store on your next purchase.
Okay, so now that you may have a better understanding of how the system works (or it may have been clear as mud)... I'll tell you about my little trip to Walgreens last night.

I come to the counter with all my little items seperated out in two different transactions. The first transaction was around $13 and I had $14RR. I used one Walgreens Coupon and several RR to pay for these items. I tried to use my $5RR and it wouldn't accept it. I'm not sure why but I ended up paying a few dollars. Well, then it didn't print of my $4RR that I should have recieved. I asked the clerk about it and he said I would have to speak with the manager so I agreed to do that.

WELL.....

The manager comes up and says "Now, what is the problem?"

I reply "I didn't get my $4RR"

"Did you use a RR?"

"Yes, I used quite a few of them"

The manager threw his arms up in the air and gave a little "hmm" as if saying well, there you have it lady.

I said, "Well, I don't think that is like other Walgreens"

"Let me just see your reciept" the manager demanded.
After giving him my reciept he said "Well here is your problem, you used a bunch of manufacturer's coupons!"

"No sir, I didn't use any Manufacturer's Coupons. I only used one Walgreens coupon and several RR"

Putting the reciept up in my face and pointing to certain items he said in a very loud and slow voice, "it says right there, MANUFACTURERS COUPON!!"

I simply respond by saying "Well, I suggest you talk to the clerk because I didn't use any Manufacturers coupons!"

He went behind the counter and spoke with the clerk and learned that I did infact use only one Walgreen coupon and several RRs. He came back and said, "Mam, I'm not sure why it said MFC but we don't print RRs when you pay with RRs".

Not wanting to argue anymore about that I just sighed and said, "Okay, well how come it didn't accept my $5RR?"

Looking at my reciept he saw the total came to $3.36 and said, "we don't give change on coupons"

"Yes sir I realize that but I tried my $5RR earlier and it still didn't accept it..."

The manager interrupted me in yet another loud slow voice saying, "WE DON'T GIVE CHANGE ON COUPONS!!!"

Getting a little upset with how he is treating me I snap back, "Don't be rude to me!"

"I'm not being rude!!"

"Yes you are! You are being very rude and you've been rude to me this whole time!!"

"I'm not being rude I am just trying to explain it and it's like you don't get it!!" Saying this as he taps his pointer finger on the side of his forehead as if to say I don't have a brain or something.

"Yes sir I do get it. I don't think you get it. I tried to give my $5RR first and it wouldn't accept it. That is when I used the smaller ones and came out to have a total of $3.36."

He then looks over my reciept again, makes sure the RR was still good (it was) hands it all back to me and goes back behind the counter. He then finds the machine has no paper.

While going to the back to get more paper the clerk asks if he can check my next transaction out at another register. I thank him and apologize for all the chaos.

At this transaction I used my $5RR, a Manufacturer's Coupon AND recieved my $2RR after the purchase. I turned around to show the manager that you can infact use RRs and still get RRs.

"See, it just let me use my $5RR and it still gave me my $2RR so I should have recieved my $4RR earlier."

The manager threw his hands up in the air like what more can I say and yelled, "MAM, THAT IS NOT MY PROBLEM! I CAN'T HELP IT IF THE MACHINE DOESN'T WORK RIGHT!!"

I grab my bag and turn around and walk over to his counter and I say "Oh yes it's gonna be your problem. What's your name?" I look at his name tag "Don? Don What?" He very defensively tells me his last name and as I'm walking out the door he YELLS out the spelling!

"Oh, I've got it Mr ____ thankyou!" (I'll leave his last name out of it for now)

I was furious! He acted like I was dumb the whole time when all along I was right. Anyway, it makes for a good story. AND... it most certainly will be his problem when I give Headquarter's a call!! I've never been treated like that by anyone!

I'll let you know how that goes too.
Hope you all have a great day and hopefully I'll get some good photos up soon!
