Oh what a pair!!
Houston's and Lacey's wedding was Saturday!! The whole weekend was perfect!
**AND- let me start off by saying this is an extremely long post with lots of photos so I apologize if it takes a while loading... but hopefully it will be worth the wait!**
Casey, Anna, and I left Thursday night and drove half way. It really wasn't too long of a ride but it is much easier to drive at night while Anna can sleep some. Plus... it sure didn't hurt that half way from home to wedding just happened to be Mimi's house!!
We left Mimi's and Paw's early Friday morning to get to the Country Club in plenty of time for me to help Zannie, Ms. Judy, and Elaine with the rehearsal dinner decorations.
By the time I got there the decorations were already looking SO good! They clearly didn't need my help... and after watching them work for a bit I wasn't about to touch a thing. It is definitely an art to do flowers... and THEY are flower artists!
I just sat back and watched and it truly was like watching three artist at work. This is what they were working with:
Buckets of flowers all over the floor!
How do you work from that? I mean I have know clue how you look at all these flowers and STICKS.. (yes, these three flower artist made sticks look amazing ...like from the woods at home- sticks.) and put them together and make them look absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
They were amazing. Mom, Ms. Judy and Elaine-the decorations were amazing and wonderful because YOU are amazing and wonderful!!
I was very happy to help- especially since I was given a job that didn't involve me totally destryoing the centerpieces with my know-nothing knowledge of decorating! I got to do the place cards.
Mom's theme for the Rehearsal Dinner was "What a pair!" The whole room was decorated around the "Pair/Pear" theme. The room was green and brown, there were pears in the arrangements, and the "place cards" were actually cute little jars of pear preserves for everyone to take home with them as a favor. The idea was so cute and it turned out great! The pear preserves even matched the decorations!
I couldn't resist setting up a little "symbolic photo-op" as I was tagging all the pear preserves.
I snapped a few more shots before I left to get ready for the rehearsal:
The room was really coming together!
Rehearsal went well. Ms Judy was doubling up as flower artist and wedding planner. She was wonderful. She was also the "wedding planner" at my wedding and I know that without her help it wouldn't have come together as it did. Ms Judy- once again, you were amazing!... oh, and I'm sorry I caused half of the wedding party to be late =)
We passed THIS on the way to the church and I begged Berry to turn around so I could get a picture (for the blog you know).
When we got to the church Houston said.. Molly, it will be there when we leave! Then I showed him this next picture and explained to him that it was good we turned around to take it because when we got to the church he was driving by...
Okay.. so back to the rehearsal...
I thought Lacey looked very pretty and happy!
We got to meet her three best friends (and other bridesmaids):
Angie, Tara, and Haven. Angie, if you see this I hope you approve of the picture. I thought you looked good..haha!
And the flower girl and ring bearer:
Addy and Cooper.
The rehearsal went well. I snapped a few photos but we were not suppose to have a flash so they are a bit grainy.. sorry!
After Rehearsal it was off the the Rehearsal Dinner. Everything was beautiful and wonderful...including all of the toasts!
But Houston's toast was the best... He was so sweet. He told us all how he "loved Lacey to death" and how excited he was to be marrying her. It was sweet.
** AND since I'm on the subject of Houston being sweet... a little side note... Houston was SO excited all weekend. It was just the sweetest thing. When Casey, Anna and I pulled up to the hotel he was waiting on us in the parking lot with both hands in the air like he just scored a touchdown or something! Anyway... it was just really sweet to see and know how happy my big brother was to be marrying Lacey!**
On another note:
Anna did GREAT all weekend. I seriously could NOT have asked her to be any better. I was a little worried about Friday night because it was a REALLY late night for her but she was happy, happy, happy until she realized it was okay to "give-out".. then she crashed in the car!
AND.. props to Casey... he got her all dolled up and ready for the rehearsal dinner by himself.
Friday night was a beautiful success. Everyone left there happy, full of good food, and ready for Saturday!!
Saturday morning started quite early for Casey and me when Anna woke up at 6am! But, she was happy to hang out with the "other baby" for a little while..haha!
Anna LOVED walking around the hotel with her walker! I'm SO glad we brought it with us!!
I LOVE that picture. Doesn't she remind you of a little old lady at the grocery store..haha. She was totally adorable all weekend. And I'm not just saying that because she's mine!
Cathy and Megan came down to the room to visit with Anna for a little bit... she LOVES them. But then again.. who doesn't?
Okay... I know it was blurry because they were laughing... but how cute is that?!.. (just sayin'!)
The wedding was BEAUTIFUL but unfortunately I wasn't allowed to take ANY photos in the church. BUT, the good news is... the photographer was AMAZING so I'll have some REALLY good pictures to show you... one day.
Until then.. here are some "after-wedding/reception" pictures I did get:
Lots of close friends and family were there:
Houston's groom's cake was an Auburn carrot cake!
Drew and Catherine and little Archer were SO super sweet to come. Archer and Anna hung out together during the wedding. These two cousins are going to be sweet friends I think!
While Archer was having mashed potatoes Anna was outside getting her picture made with Uncle Nate... it was hilarious.. she was so giggly!
This is little Marshall III and he is the cutest Marshall in all the world.. (no offense to Big Marshall and Middle Marshall..haha)I fell in love!
He's a cutie for sure!!
Nate and Scott!
Ms. Lee, Sister Sarah, and Courtney.. Look at Sarah and you can sort of see what our dresses looked like here.. they were long to the floor. Very pretty!
Nate and Courtney
Nate and Deloney
Anna acted like she was going to give Deloney her paci but then took it back.. it was cute!
Behind them was the super awesome Mustang Houston and Lacey drove off in.
Cathy and Megan helped Casey get Anna all dolled up for the wedding. She looked precious too! What wonderful friends they are!!!
The whole weekend was just super and wonderful. Houston and Lacey were both so happy. It was perfect.
This was the last photo I took of the weekend and I think it's great...
We are now home and attempting to get things back to normal. Anna slept the entire way home yesterday and then slept from 8:30pm-7:30am and THEN she took a super long nap today from 10:45-1:00... she is now up and roaming around the house so this is the perfect time to end the blog for today.
Houston and Lacey- The wedding couldn't have been more beautiful or more fun! I loved it all. I love you both and can't wait to see you again soon!!!!!
As for everyone else reading: I'll be back!!
