Anna and I have had a happy day together! We have enjoyed our girl time!! She is just so sweet and calm... not fussy, no fever... no problems from the shots!!

Hope we sleep good tonight!

Growing Girl!

It is so hard to believe that Anna had her two-month checkup this morning! Our little sweetie is 10 lbs 6 oz and 22.5 inches long! That is right... she is long and skinny!

As you may know, the main reason for the visit was to get her two-month shots! Poor little pun-kin. She actually did GREAT! I was afraid she was going to inherit her aunt say-say's nickname, LPT (low pain tolerance)after a little incident we had trimming her nails not too long ago, but she did fine! She only cried at the second needle prick for a few seconds!

The doctors said she may be cranky with a little fever but as you can see in the photo... I think she's good! But don't worry, I may have to spoil her with hugs and kisses all day and if she does get fussy we may have a slumber party in my room tonight!

We got the blues!

BLUE SKIES that is!! It is beautiful today! Can springtime really be approaching? Our tulip tree has even opened up with blossoms! I'm loving this!!



It was such a nice day that Anna and I had to break out the new stroller. I think she liked it despite the somewhat terrified look on her face!



It's not really cold enough for the LITTLE "hoodie" (I say little because it's brand new and hardly fits!) but with the wind I decided she better have something!






Anna has been a total and complete joy today!! She slept until 5:45 this morning and then after her bottle she fell right back to sleep (in her own bed) until 8! She has been really good all day! She's just as sweet as she can be. I only hope this mood stays with us!!

Little Sweetheart!

Anna's Uncle Rob came to visit for a few hours last night! I didn't think to get any photos of the two of them... (This was unfortunate because she was a perfect angel the whole time she sat with him!!) But I did manage to snap this picture of her looking at Rob. She loved him. She was so smiley but I couldn't ever get it in a picture!



I sent Rob home with Valentines for my nieces and nephew! I had to get creative for Samuel... I just could NOT send him "flowers" so I made this helicopter. I thought it was pretty fun!

It was all pretty easy to make. I cannot wait until Anna is old enough to help with fun projects like these!! She is being a total sweetheart today!!



And here she is sleeping with her daddy! I think they fall asleep in that chair every night. I couldn't resist this photo... notice Anna's eyelashes...they are so long! (I'm totally jealous!!!)

Wonderful Weekend!

A PEEK INTO THE WINDOW OF OUR WEEKEND!

DaddyBen and Zanny came to visit "little miss anna" this weekend! It was a great visit and Huntley loved having Scout to play with too!!

Anna LOVED it... notice how she completely "sacks-out" with both DaddyBen and Zanny!!

Saturday I did a little shopping and was sure to get "little" some new pajamas... the ones with the feet are so great because when she kicks her covers off at night she'll stay warm and not wake up quite so much!!

The whole weekend was wonderful!!

Sunday Uncle Luke came to visit! It was a very fun day too!! Anna definitely loved all of her company! Casey and I did too... thank you ALL for coming!

Saturday night I made this dessert that I wanted to tell you about. I learned about it here and absolutely had to try it.... you need to too! It was delicious and EASY to make!!







Whip two cups of heavy whipping cream with 1 tsp of vanilla and a couple Tbsp of sugar (or more if you like) until stiff.

Spread whipped cream between waffers (must be nabisco famous chocolate waffers) and make a long "log".

Cover the "log" with the rest of the whipped cream. (I sprinkled with chocolate sprinkles)

Fridge over night if you can.. the longer the "fridge-time" the better!

The waffers soak in the whipped cream and make a sort of chocolate sponge cake.

It was a huge hit!!

I think I'm going to have to have a little piece here in a bit!!

Sleep Well My Friends!!

Night with Mommy!

Anna did GREAT last night! She was a little fussy from 6-8 or so but once I got her calmed down she was wonderful!

She ate around 10:30 and I put her down about 11 (she managed to fall asleep on her own and wasn't even upset about it!). At 3:45 she woke up (are we noticing a pattern here?) After a tiny "I just have to at least see my mommy for a split-second" moment she fell fast asleep and slept til 5!! I bet in a day or two her little biological alarm clock will re-set itself for 5 and we won't have the 3:45 "good morning moment" anymore!

Zanny and DaddyBen are on their way today! They should be here in a couple hours! We are SO SO SO excited! I can't wait for them to see Anna. Dad hasn't seen her since she was born... he's not going to believe how much she has grown!! Mom wont either..even though she was just here a few weeks ago. It will be priceless when Anna gives them a big huge smile (I've got to capture that for y'all!!)

Update on Brooke:

She is doing much better. She had surgery and all went well. She did have to have pins put in and is wearing a full leg cast. She is now back home although she is heading to the doctor today because she is running a high fever. Please continue to pray for her.

Pajama Party!

I love this picture.. it's a little blurry only because she's waving those arms of'course!

Anna is sporting new pajamas!! My aunt steph sent her an entire bag of cute clothes... mostly pajamas (I would live in pajamas if I could!!) these were the only ones for 0-3months but there was NO WAY she was getting in them a month or two ago!! She is growing up!!

I think she likes them... last night went pretty good! She stirred up around 3:45 but after a new diaper and a LITTLE "mommy and me" time she went back down until 5am!

This child HATES a wet diaper and REALLY REALLY hates a dirty diaper (who can blame her)!! It cracks me up how she immediately calms down when you lay her on the changing table. It's a sudden sigh of relief and sometimes a big smile.... she loves to be changed!!

And Anna Sleeps!

Anna went 7 hours between feedings last night... from 10:45 til 5:45! So why am I still exhausted?

Well remember my "independent child"?



it was an ALL day thing. I'd get her calm and she'd fall asleep so I'd go put her down and five minutes later... crying! So then daddy came home and I got a little break.. except not really a break to kick my heels up.. a break to cook supper!
Casey and I held her and let her sleep and watched a movie but when it was time for bed... all she wanted was this:



and she slept wonderfully this way...



but everytime Casey thought she was sound asleep and would go down.. she would wake up and start crying so at 1am... she was with us!

AND boy did she sleep great.. not even a tiny hint of unhappiness! I told you she loved it there!!!
BUT... those little "pitter-patter" feet don't even rest at night! Tonight mommy and the monitor are going to the guest room so daddy can sleep and I can listen to this little angel cry herself to sleep.. (or try!!!)

My Independent Child!

Okay, so she HATES the sling!!

I didn't put her all the way in for the picture. That had already proven to be a disaster earlier! I just figured y'all had not seen "little-temper" (that is my pet name for her when she's fussy!)... and here she is in all her glory!

I figured out she is just independent. I can't blame her.

It would seem the apple really does not fall far from the tree!

She just loves to be able to kick those little legs and wave those arms all over the place.

She likes to do her OWN thing.. whatever it is at the moment.

It's proven to be a task trying to figure out what she wants too. Earlier I picked her up because she was finally awake from her nap (and it's so hard to resist holding that precious little angel)... well she started to cry a little...then a little more. I tried all the "soothing" techniques: pacifier, bouncy chair, diaper change, music ect...

You know what she wanted? To be put in her crib and left ALONE!

She is so MY child!!!

Well, if anyone needs a perfectly wonderful sling let me know...

Maybe my next child will love to be attatched to mommy's hip!!

Okay so I've been "tagged" a couple of times with requests to answer random questions. I've decided to just put them together and type up a "facts about me post":

1. Right now I'm wearing khaki pants, NLC tee (my favorite t-shirt), my robe and rainbows

7. The last thing I bought was a bunch of groceries!

10. One thing I cannot resist no matter how bad they are for me is peanut butter m&ms!

11. My favorite item of clothing would probably be my blue jeans.

12. My favorite pair of shoes are definitely my rainbows!

13. My favorite hobby is any kind of craft! Making things... I LOVE!!!

14. I was thrilled beyond belief when I found out I was pregnant.

15. I think Anna is the sweetest, most adorable, precious little thing in the world!

Time Flies!

I cannot even believe that February is already here!! It is so crazy to think that Anna is 7 weeks old! Time is definitely flying by! As you have probably noticed I haven't posted in a few days. Well, with Anna being awake and active more it makes it a little more difficult!

She's a sweetheart though! This weekend we broke out the "play-mat" that Amy, Leah and Erin gave her. She LOVES it! She even loved it before we put batteries in it and all she could do was look at it... now that it plays music and lights up she will lay there forever (and I can do some things around the house!) Of course "forever" for a 2 month old is more like 30 minutes... but that is perfect for making the bed, folding and putting away a couple loads of laundry, and unloading and reloading the dishwasher!!




I finally got cleared to start exercising again! I LOVE to run so I've been waiting for the doctors to give me the go ahead! I ran the other night and it was GREAT.

I was excited to get to test out my Christmas present from my sister... the cool nike/ipod hat! It has headphones built in and since we had a little cold front it was awesome!

Prayers for Brooke:

Brooke is the little girl that I used to work with! She has autism and is precious and dear to my heart.

Brooke is in the ICU with a broken leg and has surgery tomorrow. Please keep her and her sweet family in your prayers. She will be in a wheelchair for about 6 weeks after the surgery. Since she is only about 1hr and 45minutes away I went to see her yesterday. She looked pretty good. Her mother said she seemed to be feeling a little better too. I even managed to get a "hi" from her when I came in.. which was sweet and special!

While I was gone Casey and Anna obviously partied hard!!

Which turned out to be great because Anna slept so well!! I think we are on our way to sleeping the nights away!
